Arup's vision. Brought to life in plant polymers.

Arup's own lighting design team conceived the idea: a series of pendant luminaires drawing on organic, leaf-like forms — a piece of creative vision for their new Leeds office that needed a manufacturing partner capable of turning it into reality. That's where LumiAdd came in.

Working closely with Arup's designers, we took their concept from sketch to precision-manufactured pendant, using our in-house 3D printing capability to produce a form that would have been difficult, if not impossible, to realise through conventional manufacturing. It's a genuine example of what design freedom looks like in practice — not just flexibility on our end, but the ability to make someone else's vision real, exactly as they imagined it.

The pendants are finished in plant polymer blend, incorporating reclaimed scallop and oyster shell — restaurant waste material repurposed to give the surface a natural, subtle texture in place of synthetic pigments and additives. Alongside the pendants, LumiAdd also supplied our Lania track-mounted spotlights for the wider office fit-out.
