LumiAdd is revolutionising the way professional lighting products are designed and manufactured.

We are different to other lighting companies.

Design led. UK manufactured. Unconstrained by traditional tooling and component stock levels allowing us to utilise the latest components and tailor our luminaires to specific project needs. This new manufacturing approach and material selection is more sustainable than conventional methods. We only produce what we need resulting in no waste and a lower carbon footprint. See our sustainability page for more information. We have developed a process that enables the design and manufacture of finished luminaires as part of a circular economy, with a low carbon footprint.

At the heart of this process is 3D printing and bio-plastics. The bio-plastics we work with do not require the consumption of non renewable resources but are produced using sustainable and renewable plant based resources. Our luminaires are designed from the ground up for 3D printing and to support the principles of a circular economy. To close the products life cycle loop we are pioneering a buy back scheme with incentives to send the luminaires back to LumiAdd so they can be re-used, re-furbished or recycled. This is facilitated by QR codes on every fitting.

If re-using, re-furbishing or re-cycling is not possible, end of life products made with bio plastics can be broken down into carbon dioxide and water. In the worst case scenario If our products end up in land fill where the bio plastic will not breakdown for a long time, it is still worth noting that the bio plastic has taken Co2 out of the atmosphere.

In addition to the environmental benefits, FDM 3D printing has many advantages over traditional production methods such as no tooling costs, design freedom to innovate constantly and no barriers to custom variations.
